Likely causes
- Gas supply interrupted or low gas pressure
- Frozen condensate pipe
- Faulty ignition or flame sensing electrode
- Gas valve, flue or PCB fault
What you can safely check
- Check that a gas hob or other gas appliance still lights and that a prepayment meter has credit
- Check the emergency control lever at the gas meter is on (in line with the pipe)
- In freezing weather, check whether the outside condensate pipe has frozen and thaw it gently with warm (not boiling) water
- Reset the boiler once; if it locks out again, call us
What our engineer does
We test the gas supply and pressure, check the condensate route and flue, and test the electrodes, gas valve and PCB. Anything involving the gas supply, gas valve, combustion chamber, flue, fan, PCB or heat exchanger must be left to a Gas Safe registered engineer and must not be attempted by the householder.
Models this applies to: Ideal Logic, Ideal Logic+, Ideal Logic Max, Ideal Vogue, Ideal Vogue Max, Ideal Independent, Ideal i-mini.
Other Ideal codes
Guidance only. Fault codes vary by model and firmware; anything involving gas, the flue, the fan, the gas valve, the PCB or the heat exchanger must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
