Baxi fault code · Monitor

Baxi E119 fault code: what it means

System water pressure has dropped below about 0.5 bar, so the boiler has stopped. It is the most common Baxi code and usually just needs a top-up. Baxi 600 and 800 boilers show E118 for the same condition.

Repairs from £90Fixed price before the repair

Likely causes

  • Normal small pressure loss over time
  • Radiators bled recently
  • Leak on the system or a passing pressure relief valve
  • Expansion vessel needs recharging

What you can safely check

  • Top up through the filling loop to between 1 and 1.5 bar when the system is cold and close the loop fully afterwards
  • Reset the boiler if it does not restart on its own
  • If you are topping up more than once or twice a year, the system is losing water and needs looking at, so call us

What our engineer does

If the pressure keeps dropping we trace the leak, test the expansion vessel and pressure relief valve and put it right. Anything involving the gas supply, gas valve, combustion chamber, flue, fan, PCB or heat exchanger must be left to a Gas Safe registered engineer and must not be attempted by the householder.

Models this applies to: Baxi Duo-tec, Baxi Platinum, Baxi EcoBlue, Main Eco Compact, Potterton Promax, Potterton Gold.
